Hunting for future leaders

The philosophy of “we are, because we think”, is being perfectly implemented by Dubai Properties Group, as the organization works tirelessly, under the leadership of its CEO Khalid Al Malik, to inspire its staff to learn and innovate through various events and programs.
One such event is the recent ‘Insights on Leadership’. DPG, a member of Dubai Holding, held the fifth session of it leadership session in collaboration with DP World as part of its Corporate Academy Program. The leadership forum provided DPG’s senior management with insights on best practice in business development.
Introduced by the chief executive of DPG, the event included a presentation by speaker Mohammed Sharaf, Group CEO of DP World. With more than two decades in the transport and logistics business, Sharaf shared his valuable insights and experience on business development best practice and gave examples of how his business has addressed and overcome a variety of challenges.
Advising on business best practices, Sharaf gave guidance to DPG employees on adapting and managing changes within an organization. Having overseen a major international growth strategy integrating the domestic and international arms of DP World , he was able to highlight how a business can adapt to changes and move forward successfully.
Sharaf said: “Being part of this leadership forum was a great experience; it is encouraging to see DPG investing in its people and empowering them with ongoing platforms such as this. I am pleased to have had this opportunity to both listen and share, and hope other organizations follow DPG’s example as it is very important to give your team room to think, to be inspired and to learn.”
Group CEO of Dubai Properties Group, Khalid Al Malik, said: “At DPG, we are committed to continuously offering the best opportunities to our employees to develop their expertise. We believe that investing in our employees’ knowledge and training is crucial and having Mr Sharaf from DP World at the fifth edition of this forum was very important. His insights are very useful for our employees and we are thankful to him for sharing his knowledge and advice with us.”
DPG’s Corporate Academy, launched under the strategic direction of Al Malik, is developed by an experienced team with a selection of courses endorsed by the prestigious Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). The program promotes the development of individuals through specialized skill-based learning and gives employees from all departments the opportunity to attend a variety of training courses throughout the year.
