Oman natural gas production sees slight increase

The production of natural gas in Oman has seen a slight increase, local reports have said.

The country’s National Center for Statistics and Information has announced that the country’s production of natural gas— including imports — at the end of last March witnessed a slight increase by 0.8 percent.

It was up to 11.73 billion cubic meters in March 2022, compared to 11.64 billion cubic meters by the end of the same month last year.

Data issued by the center indicated that the consumption of natural gas in industrial areas increased by 13.9 percent at the end of last March, compared to the same period in 2021.

In industrial projects, the consumption increased by 4.8 percent year on year.

Gas consumption witnessed a decrease in oil fields by 7 percent and in power plants by 3.3 percent at the end of last March.
