Qatar, Poland to enhance cooperation: Polish Deputy Foreign Minister

Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski of Poland said on Monday that Poland and Qatar can increase their cooperation in many areas, praising the huge progress Qatar has made in different sectors, especially as it prepares to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Jablonski said, during a press conference, that his current visit to Doha at the head of a high-level delegation aims to discuss new opportunities to support and advance economic, investment and tourism cooperation, as well as other areas of cooperation, especially in food security and information technology. 

He also said that he discussed with Qatari officials ways to enhance cooperation with the Qatar-Poland Business Council, the Qatar Financial Center, the Qatar Free Zones Authority, the Investment Promotion Agency, the Qatari Businessmen Association, Qatar Science and Technology Park, and Microsoft Qatar.

Jablonski noted that financial technology is one of the most important sectors in which his country operates, saying in this context, that the State of Qatar is also investing in the field of digitization and both countries can partner together in this field.

The Polish minister also inaugurated the Qatar-Poland New Tech Forum, in which more than 20 Polish companies participated, and it is an opportunity for Polish businessmen to meet their Qatari counterparts, considering that the meeting of the two sides was very fruitful.
