Shipsy, an end-to-end global trade and logistics management company, has established regional headquarters in Dubai to strengthen its presence in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, India’s leading business newspaper Economic Times reported on Wednesday.

The firm, which operates on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, plans to recruit for leadership and mid-level management roles in the sales department and build new channel partners in the region.

The key focus of the startup over the next five years is to create dedicated support and IT infrastructure to cater to the rising logistics automation demand in the region.

The decision came in accordance with the increasing demand for logistics and supply chain automation, which further skyrocketed during COVID-19 and is expected to boom in the upcoming years.

With over 50 large enterprise customers in the region already, Shipsy is looking to treble this number over the next 1 year.

By facilitating automation of logistics operations, the company has helped enterprises – both Shippers and Logistics companies to streamline their processes and save on the overall logistics cost.

“We are excited to set the ball rolling with new recruitments on the horizon. We are certain that this expansion will pave the way for newer partnerships and mutual avenues of growth in the region,” Shipsy’s co-founder and chief executive Soham Chokshi said in a statement.

Shipsy’s platform, reports in India media said,  leverages artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud capabilities to help customers reduce logistics costs, achieve transparency, and ensure timely delivery of goods across different transportation modes.
