The seventh General Assembly of Global Public Diplomacy Network will get underway in Katara, chaired by Qatar, with the participation of 14 member states and seven candidate countries.
The meeting is scheduled to witness modifications in the development of the network’s structure, and to lay out a vision for its strategy in expanding the areas of cooperation, in a manner that institutionalizes the network and enhances its position, strength, and effectiveness internationally through new participations, attracting more members and developing the network’s work, which will reflect positively on achieving the goals of all member states.
The meeting will also witness the joining of seven new countries (Bulgaria, Albania, Romania, Tajikistan, Ghana, Rwanda, and Palestine) to the network, bringing the number of members in the network to 29 countries from different continents of the world.
The meeting will also discuss the initiative launched by Katara to transform the Global Public Diplomacy Network into an international organization.
A series of projects on the meeting agenda will also be discussed, most notably the “Digital Diplomacy” project, which was presented by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), in addition to discussing three other papers related to building human capacities and promoting sustainable development programs, in addition to the knowledge and awareness exchange program among member states.
