Covid-19 infection: 12 die in Saudi Arabia, two in UAE

RIYADH: Twelve more people succumbed to Covid-19 infection in Saudi Arabia, which recorded 1,084 new infections on Sunday.

The highest number of new infections (235) was recorded in the capital Riyadh followed by 207 in the Holy city of Makkah. A total of 8,249 people have succumbed to the virus in the Kingdom so far, local media reports said.

The total number of recoveries in the Kingdom increased to 507,374 after 1,285 more patients recovered from the virus, while 26.9 million doses of a coronavirus vaccine have been administered in the Kingdom to date.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) of the UAE said on Sunday that two persons died due to Covid-19 complications, taking the death toll in the country to 1,951.

The country recorded 1,519 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases to 682,377.
