Manama, Bahrain – The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Dr Naif Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf signed on Friday an MoU with Bangladeshi foreign minister Abul Kalam Abdul-Moamen to strengthen economic cooperation between the parties.
The MoU was inked on the sidelines of the 18th edition of Manama Dialogue 2022.
The GCC is a regional, intergovernmental, political, and economic union comprising Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The MoU, Dr. Al-Hajraf said, would serve as the legal basis for collaboration between Bangladesh and the GCC through a joint action plan, working group, technical team, business council, and forums.
Bangladesh foreign minister emphasized that his country and the GCC have a lot of scope to work together for skill development, food security, energy security, climate change, crisis management, peace management, afforestation, IT cooperation and preferential or free trade agreement.
