Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Global deploys robot for Red Sea, Amaala beach cleanup

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Red Sea Global, a company wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, has unveiled a state-of-the-art robot designed specifically for beach cleanup in Red Sea and Amaala destinations. 

The electric-powered robot is engineered to enhance the visual appeal of the sandy shores while tackling the persistent challenge of plastic waste and other debris. It also capability to identify objects as small as one cubic centimeter.

Crafted for remote operation, the robot has undergone meticulous development to ensure thorough and impactful cleaning outcomes, all the while prioritizing environmental conservation. Its agility enables it to navigate seamlessly around beach furniture and potential obstructions, setting it apart from similar devices. The robot can cover up to 3,000 square meters in just an hour.

The initial deployment of this innovative beach-cleaning robot will be at the Red Sea destination. 

The Red Sea destination, which hosted its inaugural visitors in 2023 with the opening of two hotels, has become increasingly accessible since September through the Red Sea International Airport. 

Looking ahead to 2030, the Red Sea megaproject aims to feature 50 resorts boasting 8,000 hotel rooms and over 1,000 residential units spread across 22 islands and six mainland locations. In addition to these accommodations, the destination will offer luxury marinas, elite golf courses, and an array of entertainment and recreational amenities.
