NEW YORK and RIYADH — The ATP Tour, in a landmark partnership with the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has unveiled ATP Tennis IQ Powered by PIF, a cutting-edge technology platform designed to revolutionize how players access data and improve their performance.
The new system aims to level the playing field by providing advanced analytics and insights to a much wider range of athletes, from rising stars to the game’s elite.
Empowering a New Generation of Players
The platform, which will be available to up to 2,000 players across the ATP Tour and ATP Challenger Tour, delivers richer, real-time data to help athletes analyze their game and their opponents. Previously, such in-depth data was often a resource limited to top-tier players and their teams.
According to Ross Hutchins, ATP’s Chief Sporting Officer, a key goal of the new platform is to put “high quality data insights into the hands of more players,” providing information that can genuinely impact their careers. He added that the collaboration with PIF has significantly accelerated the platform’s development, marking “one of the biggest technological step changes in the sport.”
Real-Time Insights and Enhanced Features
Building on an initial version launched in 2023, the upgraded platform was developed in partnership with Tennis Data Innovations (TDI) and TennisViz. It features several key enhancements:
- Broader Access: The platform is now accessible to singles players across both the ATP Tour and ATP Challenger Tour, as well as all ATP coach members.
- Intuitive Interface: An improved user interface makes it faster and easier for players to navigate and find the information they need.
- Advanced Scouting: Players can now use enhanced scouting and video tools to analyze opponent and match performance with greater detail.
- Wearables Integration: The system can now integrate with wearables, bringing physical performance data into focus and providing a holistic view of a player’s condition during a match.
These new features are designed to help players better prepare for matches, refine their training, adjust their in-match strategy, and make more informed decisions on the court.
A Shared Vision for Tennis’s Future
The launch of ATP Tennis IQ is part of a broader partnership between the ATP and PIF aimed at enhancing the global tennis ecosystem. PIF, which is the official naming partner of the ATP Rankings, has also forged partnerships with major ATP Tour events, including those in Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, and Beijing, as well as the Nitto ATP Finals and the Next Gen ATP Finals Presented by PIF.
Mohamed AlSayyad, Head of Corporate Brand at PIF, emphasized that the partnership reflects a commitment to empowering athletes through innovation. He stated that the collaboration is “built on a shared ambition to elevate every level of sport on a global scale” and will support the next generation of talent.
