Jordan discusses projects with World Bank and Ukraine

Jordan’s Agriculture Minister Khalid Hneifat had a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Dmytro Senik where they discussed the promotion of goods exchange and ties between the two countries.

During the meeting Hneifat pointed out the importance of the climate in Jordan suitable for producing winter crops and high-quality fruits and vegetables.

They also deliberated on operating a center for Ukrainian grains.

The meeting was also attended by Ukraine’s Ambassador to Jordan, Myroslava Shcherbatiuk.

Hneifat also met with World Bank representative and agricultural economist Tobias Baedeker.

They especially discussed the use of advanced water technology that depends on the use of water with latest methods.

The two parties also emphasized encouraging agricultural industries projects as well as establishing filling, grading, and cooling centers in production areas and near central markets in order to reduce waste.

The meeting also touched on the need to increase afforestation operations and the cultivation of areas that need patching

They also emphasized the need to support rural-development projects and establish permanent bazaars and exhibitions in all governorates of Jordan to reduce unemployment and poverty.
