UAE’s Zayed University and Israel’s Haifa University sign cooperation pact

  • The varsities agreed to have joint-research projects besides organizing mutually beneficial events, colloquia, seminars and conferences.
  • The pact is in line with UAE's strategy to develop partnerships between academic institutions.

Zayed University of UAE and Haifa University of Israel have signed an MoU for cooperation on projects promoting research, education, outreach, and capacity building.
Under the pact, both the universities aim to exchange knowledge and academic best practices. The parties agreed to have joint-research projects besides organizing mutually beneficial events, colloquia, seminars and conferences.
The MoU follows one of the UAE government’s key strategies aimed at developing effective partnerships between academic institutions to implement human welfare and society development goals.
Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth and President of Zayed University, and Prof. Ron Robin, President of Haifa University of Israel signed the MoU in presence of other dignitaries from both countries.
Al Kaabi said, “The new partnership will generate opportunities for all as we look forward to importing best practices in technological advancements, resource management, water and food security, as well as marine sciences, quality teaching, and research that serves well with our target for next 50 years.”
Robin said, “In the wake of many common challenges facing humanity as we grapple with the climate crisis, this kind of academic cooperation is a way to preserve what all of us call home the planet.”
