Ajman issues 41 percent more economic licenses in 2021

The economic licenses issued by the Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) during 2021 grew by 41 percent.

Also, the number of establishments reached 27,913, and the Labor Resilience Index reached 17 percent.

The efforts and initiatives launched by the Ajman DED during 2021 have resulted in a high growth rate of the Ta’ziz Program to about 238 percent, local media reports said.

Abdulla Ahmed Al Hemrani Alshamsi, Director-General of Ajman DED, gave credit to the department’s efforts in developing digital services and achieving a percentage of 88 percent on the Customer Satisfaction Index regarding the services provided through the website.

Al Hemrani said that the Ajman DED supports the industrial sector, as it constitutes about 20 percent of the emirate’s GDP. There are a total of 1047 factories in Ajman.

The department has provided many initiatives that support exporters in the emirate, including Logistics Passport Services, which benefitted 105 beneficiaries, and a cooperation agreement was also concluded with Abu Dhabi to support exporting, where the number of beneficiaries reached 16 beneficiaries.

He stated that the department signed 54 agreements during 2021, and the percentage of partners’ satisfaction reached 85 percent, while the department’s satisfaction rate with the partners was 81 percent, said the reports.

The partnership effectiveness rate was 98 percent, while the total transactions resulting from partnerships amounted to 174,671 transactions.

According to the reports, Al Hemrani stressed that the department spared no effort in fully supporting investors and owners of SMEs, through initiatives such as events and exhibitions.

He also noted that the department contributed to employing the unemployed with a rate of 8.5 percent through the Taziz Program.
