Iraq acquires ExxonMobil share

The Iraqi cabinet on Wednesday approved the acquisition of ExxonMobil’s share in the West Qurna field by the national oil company.

“The cabinet has approved the acquisition of ExxonMobil’s share in the West Qurna/1 field,” Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar Ismail said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

“The West Qurna field is one of the giant fields,” the statement added.
