Touted as the “world’s most beautiful building”, Dubai’s Museum of the Future is a spectacular seven-story hollow silver ellipse.
Taking pride of place on Dubai’s main highway, Sheikh Zayed road, its organizers have said the visitors will be taken “on a journey of the year 2071”.
Alongside the $7-billion Expo, which features a swathe of futuristic designs, the museum is the latest addition to UAE’s flashy architecture.
Many believe the Museum of the Future is UAE’s one more attempt to boost its soft power as a trading and tourism hub and to diversify its economy away from oil.
Already, the museum hosted Alex Kipman, Vice President of Artificial Intelligence and Mixed Reality at Microsoft during the third session of the ‘Future Talks’ series. He addressed the vast potential of virtual worlds now at the fingertips.
Here is a look at this addition to UAE’s many endeavors towards a digital future.
