190k tourists visit Jordan during Eid al-Fitr, says official

Jordan’s archaeological and tourist sites have received about 190 thousand local, Arab and foreign visitors during Eid al-Fitr vacation.

Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities spokesperson Ahmad al-Rifae said in a statement that Jordan has witnessed active tourist movement during the vacation, noting that the ministry has put in place a plan including organizing field tours and shifts for its cadres.

The ministry prepared shift programs in archaeological and public sites, and provided services to tourists and visitors during their stay, al-Rifae said.

The measures, taken by the government, to ease Covid-related restrictions and readjusting protocols have positively affected the tourism sector, the spokesperson added.
