Qatar and Kuwait on Sunday cautioned against repercussions of Israeli settlement plans and projects of 4,000 new housing units in the occupied West Bank.
Kuwait foreign ministry also warned against the destruction of 12 Palestinian villages in Khalil Governorate, and the displacement of 4,000 from their homes.
Qatar has warned against the plans of the Israeli occupation authorities to approve about 4000 new settlement units in the occupied West Bank, considering them a flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.
In a statement today, Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to take urgent action to prevent the occupation authorities from approving the plans, and forcing them to stop their settlement policies in the Palestinian territories.
Kuwait stressed that the settlement plans pose a serious threat to international efforts aimed at implementing the two-state solution, and impede the resumption of the peace process on the basis of international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
On the other hand, Kuwait ministry of foreign affairs said that these settlement schemes, which blatantly violate international law and legitimacy; mainly the resolution 2334, neglect the global efforts to find a solution to Israeli-Palestinian question, in line with international resolutions and the Arab peace initiative.
Kuwait called on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities by compelling the Israeli occupation forces to stop settlement projects and abide by international law and resolutions, as well as provide protection to the Palestinian people, the statement stressed.
Both countries reiterated their principled position in support of legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to the statement.
