Britain offers £50.2m grant to Jordan to expand social net

The agreement was signed between Jordan minister Nasser Shraideh, and British Minister of State for Asia and the Middle East, Amanda Milling.

Britain has offered. £50.2 million grant to  support Jordan’s  efforts to expand the safety net within the framework of  the country’s National Social Protection Strategy.

The agreement was signed between Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Nasser Shraideh, and British Minister of State for Asia and the Middle East, Amanda Milling.

The grant is part of an £95 million aid package including £65 million for the social protection sector and £30 million for the education sector, the statement issued by the two sides noted.

The aid also helps Jordan take care of the Syrian refugees. a priority for the British side, the statement said.
