AMMAN, JORDAN – Jordan will Monday host the 2022 Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Mediterranean Conference, organized by North Macedonia, Chair of 2022 Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation Group and the OSCE Secretariat/External Co-operation Section.

The two-day meeting in the Dead Sea region will bring together representatives from 57 OSCE countries and six Mediterranean countries to discuss advancing security and cooperation in the region through dialogue with the OSCE Mediterranean Partners for Cooperation, a statement by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.

The event will also feature a political segment devoted to the role of youth, with thematic sessions tackling challenges caused by climate change, the trafficking of human beings, and women’s economic empowerment.

Since its inception, the OSCE has placed a high priority on security issues in the Mediterranean region, according to the statement.
