The Abu Dhabi Registration Authority issued 3,058 new economic licences to Emirati female entrepreneurs and businesswomen between January and June, up 6.4 percent from 2,873 during the same period in 2025.
The licences covered standard, Tajer Abu Dhabi and Freelance categories, supporting women operating across a range of economic sectors.
Creative businesses gain momentum
Mobdea licences, which enable Emirati women to turn creative interests into businesses, rose 10.1 percent in the first half of 2026, following 33 percent growth in 2025.
ADRA said the increase reflects policies and initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s participation in the economy and supporting the transition towards a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.
Support for entrepreneurship
Mohamed Munif Al Mansoori, director general of ADRA, said the continued growth in licences demonstrated the expanding role of Emirati businesswomen and their contribution to Abu Dhabi’s economic competitiveness.
He said the authority would continue developing services and solutions to help entrepreneurs and businesswomen turn their ambitions into businesses supporting sustainable development.
