RAS AL KHAIMAH – Culture and arts serve as a universal language between nations and peoples, carrying a noble message that enriches communication, reinforces the values of harmony and tolerance, and contributes to the creation of societies built on strong principles, said Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

“Culture and arts are an integral part of building communities and a key pillar of Ras Al Khaimah’s sustainable development,” Sheikh Saud said, as he opened the 12th edition of Ras Al Khaimah Art Festival, organised by the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Public Policy Research.

Held at Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village under the theme ‘Movement,’ the festival showcases the work of 106 local and international artists through February 29. Sheikh Saud reflected on the event’s representation of the Emirate’s rich heritage and its growing significance within the UAE’s cultural and arts landscape.

Welcoming artists and dignitaries from around the globe, Sheikh Saud reiterated Ras Al Khaimah’s dedication to bolstering the UAE’s reputation as a center for creative talent. This effort includes supporting budding artists and hosting significant events, driven by the conviction that art reflects societal values and instills hope across generations.

During his visit to the festival’s venues, Sheikh Saud engaged with artists, exploring the essence of their work. The Ras Al Khaimah Art Festival, set against the backdrop of the historical Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village dating back to the 17th century, stands as a testament to the Emirate’s commitment to fostering art and creativity, featuring a diverse array of artistic endeavors, workshops, and activities.
