Tuwaiq Sculpture is the second public art programme to be launched as part of Riyadh Art, which aims to transform Riyadh into a global cultural hub. According to the reports, more than 400 sculptors across 71 countries applied to participate in the symposium.

The artists will use black and white marble to create a variety of sculptures live. Once completed, the project will be on display for the final four days of the symposium. Three winners will be selected by Riyadh Art Expert Panel before all 20 artworks are relocated to various prominent outdoor locations throughout the city. The symposium will also include over 30 free talks and workshops, as well as dozens of educational trips for students, bringing vibrant, inspiring experiences to the community, says local reports.

Riyadh Season and Riyadh Art have announced a collaboration with Tuwaiq Sculpture aims to provide artistic, cultural, and entertainment events to the local and international communities, as well as the selection of multiple locations within Riyadh for the permanent relocation of the winning sculptures.
