As many as 560 foreign companies are operating in the Omani governorate of Al Wusta and their capital investments by the end of September 2021 reached Omani Riyal 1.3 billion ($3.37 billion), an official said.

Abdoon Mohammed Al Harsoosi, Director of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion inaaaa Al Wusta, said the governorate seeks to benefit from the Industrial Strategy, which will propel economic growth through economic diversification, notably by activating converting industries and introducing technology and knowledge.

The Strategy also is geared towards developing smart products and expanding the geographical circulation of converting industries products to cover new regional and international markets, he said.

The Industrial Strategy keeps pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and aims to upgrade the level of technology used in industrialization, said Al Harsoosi, adding that the number of industrial licenses registered in Al Wusta during the first nine months of 2021 stood at 177.
