ADNOC Distribution launches range of 100% plant-based engine oils

  • Voyager PX Green is developed specifically for petrol engines and Voyager DX Green for diesel engines
  • The technology is said to be the first approach in the region to be made entirely from plant-based oils

ADNOC Distribution launched a new range of lubricant products for both petrol and diesel engines, which it said are made from 100 percent plant-based base oil.

The new products, called the Voyager Green Series, are said to be part of ADNOC Distribution’s overall strategy to continue expanding its sustainable and environmentally-friendly product range.

Voyager PX Green is developed specifically for petrol engines and Voyager DX Green for diesel engines.

The high-quality blending technology is said to be the first approach in the region to be made entirely from plant-based base oils, showcasing the company’s commitment to offering customers more environmentally friendly product options.

Plant-based base oils are made from sustainable feedstock sources, such as palm, soy, coconut, and rapeseed.

The range is apparently formulated to deliver higher levels of engine performance than conventional synthetic base oils, due to its molecular composition.

The new series is expected to carry certifications from the internationally recognized American Petroleum Institute (API) as well as and major vehicle manufacturer approvals.

ADNOC Distribution CEO Bader Saeed Al Lamki was quoted by the local reports as saying: “This innovative new range offers our customers an even greater range of choices to select the right lubricant for their vehicles.”

He added: “Leveraging our in-house research team and production facilities, we will continue to invest in innovation that offers greater choice, quality and supports our move towards a more diversified energy mix.”

ADNOC Distribution reportedly formulates and produces the Voyager Green Series at its dedicated facility in the UAE, looking to adhere to quality and efficiency standards in accordance with international guidelines.

This new range is expected to be available from March 2022 in the UAE as well as across the company’s international distribution network of 19 countries.
