Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies Co. (AWPT) has announced that it has won a contract worth SAR 195.85 million ($52.17 million) to operate and maintain King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Project for Zamzam Water in Makkah, local reports said.

 

The company will manage, operate and maintain the project’s facilities, which include all components of the Zamzam water well, as well as the preform and bottling plants and distribution center for 60 months.


The contract does not have any related parties, the statement added.
 

The move comes in line with AWPT’s strategic plan and objectives as well as Vision 2030 to develop all aspects of the water sector.

 

The company won the deal after submitting the best financial and technical offer.

 

Reportedly, the relevant financial impact is expected to appear in the first quarter of 2022.

 

AWPT said it will announce any further developments in this regard in due course, especially after receiving the final version of the contract signed by all concerned parties.
