Bahrain and Germany look to boost cooperation in health sector

The two sides exchange views on deepening ties.

Manama, Bahrain— Bahrain and Germany have held discussions to boost ties in the health field as the two countries seek to deepen overall ties.

In this connection, Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Health (SCH), met, in the presence of Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasaan, MInister of Health, Dr. Edgar Franck, Minister of State for Health at the German Ministry of Health.

Clemens Hach, German Ambassador to Bahrain, attended the meeting.

The SCH Chairman affirmed the depth of the distinguished Bahraini-German friendship relations in all fields, especially regarding cooperation in the health field.

He praised the participation of German delegations in the 15th Arab-German Health Forum, held on the sidelines of the Manama Health Congress and Expo 2023, which is one of the most important medical exhibitions and conferences in the Gulf Cooperation Council specialising in the field of medical devices and supplies and the manufacture and production of medicines, hosted by Exhibition World Bahrain.

The SCH Chairman underlined Bahrain’s interest in developing its cooperation with Germany in all fields.

The two sides discussed topics pertaining to exchanging specialised medical, technological and technical expertise, training, medical research and other areas of joint work between the two countries.

Dr. Edgar Franck lauded the numerous health achievements of the Government of Bahrain, stressing his country’s keenness to broaden cooperation with the kingdom.
