Cairo, Egypt — Egypt’s global prominence received a boost as it jumped from 11th to third place in the 2023 Offshore BPO Confidence Index.

The Offshore BPO Confidence Index 2023 report, highlighting Egypt’s ascent, delves into key global outsourcing locations.

Egypt’s performance across seven categories—Local Labor Market, Infrastructure, Commercial Property, BPO Ecosystem, Political Stability, Public Security, and Economic Stability—resulted in an impressive rating of 83.8 percent.

Egypt’s BPO industry demonstrated steady growth, with digital exports increasing from $4.5 billion in 2022 to $4.9 billion in 2023. The country targets doubling export revenue to $9 billion by 2026, creating over 200,000 direct job opportunities.

The report commends Egypt’s commitment to technology and digital transformation, citing infrastructure upgrades and a surge in technological adoption. Government upskilling initiatives and a favorable digital business environment contribute to Egypt’s positive image.

Acknowledging the role of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the report notes government plans to intensify efforts in promoting Egypt as a preferred offshoring destination.

In this growth, there’s a notable shift towards high-value services, with global and local tech players capitalizing on Egypt’s rich engineering talent, particularly in semiconductors, IC design, embedded systems, and automotive software.
