GCC and UK hold first round of talks on Free Trade Agreement

London, United Kingdom -The GCC has held negotiations with the United Kingdom on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), according to the British government.

The talks took place from Aug. 22 to Sept. 29, 2022.

The two sides discussed FTA’s goals and the exchange of technical information in 29 areas through 33 sessions.

More than 100 British negotiators representing different sides of the British government participated in the round.

The British government said the FTA is a major economic opportunity and plays a key role in the relations between UK and GCC.

The deal is likely to increase the trade by at least 16 percent, adding 1.6 billion pounds annually to the UK economy, local media reports said.
