  • SAIPA is planning to supply 90,000 units of the QUIK sedan model to Russian customers in the next three years.
  • Exports can start within a month and after the required permits are issued by Russian authorities.

TEHRAN, IRAN – The CEO of SAIPA Auto Making Company, Iran’s second-largest car manufacturing company, said a contract has been inked for exporting 120,000 passenger and commercial vehicles to Russia.

Mohammad Teymouri pointed to his visit to Russia’s car market last week and stated that a contract was concluded for exporting 90,000 SAINA, QUIK and SHAHIN passenger cars, 30,000 NISSAN Pickups and also 151 light-vehicle Pickups.

During his visit to Russia, Teymouri had said, “With the analysis provided by SAIPA’s Russian partners, the possibility for success of SAINA and QUIK is very high in this market.”

He said SAIPA is planning to supply 90,000 units of the QUIK sedan model to Russian customers in the next three years.

The official said exports can start within a month and after the required permits are issued by Russian authorities.

Russian authorities have invited carmakers from China and Iran to fill the gap and use the infrastructure left behind by those companies.

Teymouri said SAIPA had taken over two large dealerships and after-sales services centers in Moscow and one in Minsk, Belarus, that were formerly offering services to Honda and Hyundai cars.

Mohammad Khazaei Iran’s Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance also attended the ceremony of delivering 14 SHAHIN sedan manufactured by SAIPA to customers of the company.
