Iraq finalizes fresh air deals with Gulf countries

BAGHDAD, IRAQ – The Civil Aviation Authority announced the work to conclude new air agreements with the Gulf states. A spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority, Jihad Al-Diwan, told local media agency: “We have agreements with all Gulf countries and all Gulf national carriers that land in Iraqi airports, except for Kuwaiti ones,” noting that “in the future, there may be air agreements with Kuwait.”. The office added, “The Civil Aviation Authority is working to conclude new air agreements with all Gulf countries.” Al-Diwan continued, “The aviation authority approves any request submitted by airlines that meets the standards and controls,” noting that “most carriers in the Arab countries, especially the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman, have continuous flights at Baghdad and Najaf international airports.”
