Oman Shell updates SME training

  • Oman Shell has designed the program to ensure that it aligns with Shell’s social investment strategy and Oman Vision 2040
  • It takes into consideration the aspirations of its partners and entrepreneurs, while empowering entrepreneurs and Omani businesses

Oman Shell has launched a new version of Shell Intilaaqah in collaboration with the SME Development Authority, also known as Riyada, said local reports on Wednesday, August 25.

The new program reportedly aims to build the capabilities of entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises in the fields of sustainability and renewable energy.

Oman Shell is said to have designed the program to ensure that it aligns with Shell’s social investment strategy and Oman Vision 2040.

It reportedly takes into consideration the aspirations of its partners and entrepreneurs, whilst focusing on empowering entrepreneurs and Omani businesses working in the fields of sustainability and renewable energy.

The new version of Shell Intilaaqah includes an intensive one-month certifiable training program, where participants will undergo courses in the fields of sustainability, solar panel installation, health, safety and environment.

They will also be trained on topics in the fields of entrepreneurship, marketing, quality management, work ethics, and compliance, said the reports.

Additionally, the program will host local and regional experts to enrich it with their practical experiences.

The program will also reportedly include a module that is considered a requirement to register and obtain accreditation in the installation of solar panels by the Authority for Public Services Regulation.

The local reports quoted Riyada President Halima bint Rashid Al-Zari as saying: “This program will contribute to achieving better results by connecting entrepreneurs to experts who have paved the way in solar energy and sustainability in Oman and beyond.”
