Qatar urges manufacturers to use new logo on products

  • Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry unveiled the new logo in December last year, after a competition for it
  • The ministry has now urged local producers and manufacturers to stop using the old logo, after a six-month grace period

Qatar has instructed local producers and manufacturers must use the new Qatari Product logo on all their products.

The country’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has said that the new logo should be on all products displayed or marketed in all outlets across Qatar.

Manufacturers, producers, and outlets had been given a grace period of six months to get the new logo on their products.

The ministry unveiled the new logo for branding Qatari products in December last year, having conducted a competition for it a month earlier.

It has now urged, in post across several social-media platforms, local producers and manufacturers to stop using the old logo.

It also stressed the need to comply with the general requirements for using the new logo.

The ministry said the logo could be used by all manufacturers and producers who have official approvals and licenses as well as sales outlets. It may be placed on advertisements as well.

The logo should also be placed on all products entirely or partly manufactured locally.

It is to be placed on the principal display surface of the product, or anywhere clear to the consumer.

Manufacturers must ensure not to place it at the base of the item, said the ministry.

It added that manufacturers may not change the design specifications, shape, and content of the logo when using it.

Logo stickers can be placed on freight and distribution vehicles in a size that suits the vehicle, said the ministry.
