Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — On the World Chocolate Day, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce announced that the total number of existing commercial records for cocoa and chocolate manufacturing activities in Saudi Arabia reached 3,532 by the end of the second quarter of 2025.
Riyadh leads the Kingdom in chocolate manufacturing, boasting 1,490 commercial records, followed by Makkah, which holds 909 records, Eastern Region with 416, Qassim with 213, and Madinah accounting for 149 commercial records.
Saudi Arabia is the region’s biggest market for chocolates and, in 2024, the Kingdom imported a whopping 123 million kg of chocolate. This reflects the significant growth in consumer demand for a product that is popular not only for everyday consumption but also for premium gifting.
Celebrated globally on July 7 each year, World Chocolate Day highlights one of the world’s best-selling food products. Chocolate varieties range from dark, milk, and white to those infused with nuts or fruits, catering to diverse tastes.
