Saudi Education Minister meets founder of edX platform in US

BOSTON, US – Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Education Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al AlSheikh has met with the founder and leaders of edX platform at Boston University in the United States.

Dr. Al AlSheikh had a meeting with the platform’s founder Dr. Anant Agarwal, President of Business Development John Schwartzman, and Vice President of Business Development Lee Rubinstein.

The minister met the platform’s founder to discuss ways to promote cooperation in the online education and e-training industry, as part of Dr. Al AlSheikh’s tour of American universities and research centers.

The two discussed ways to develop a partnership between the National Center for E-Learning FutureX and the edX platform.

This partnership aims to enable students to access high-quality education and to meet the needs of the labor market by refining and reshaping their skills, in accordance with the objectives of the Human Capability Development Program and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

During the meeting, they discussed university education and the development of the skills for designing and developing electronic games among students.

They discussed the BootcampX initiative to enhance these skills, which was recently launched in partnership with the edX platform by Dr. Al AlSheikh, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for E-Learning.

The BootcampX initiative provides students, job seekers and employees with extensive training opportunities through programs designed in collaboration with the best universities and companies around the world.

The goal is to equip them with the necessary qualifications and technical skills to meet the demands of the future labor market.
