Sharjah unveils new tourism rest house project in Khor Fakkan

    • The project has been built on an area of 10,250 sq m

    • It includes a restaurant, green spaces, and playing areas for children

Sharjah ruler Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi has announced the opening of the emirate’s latest tourism project, said local reports on Friday, July 16.

The project is called the Al Suhub Rest Area, and is located 600 m above sea level in Khor Fakkan, said the reports.

The Al Suhub Rest Area has reportedly been built on an area of 10,250 sq m. The new tourism development reportedly consists of two floors with a total area of 2,788 sq m.

The ground floor includes a restaurant and a cafe that can accommodate 88 visitors in the inner hall and 48 in the outer balcony.

The basement contains a multipurpose hall, separate prayer rooms for men and women, toilets, and service and administrative facilities, said the reports.

It is said to have several green spaces, where 8,700 trees have been planted. There is also apparently a dedicated playing area, measuring 541 sq m, for children.

The road leading to the project is 6.5 km long and reportedly includes two lanes, one for ascent and the other for descent.
