TRENDS poll: GCC residents opt to be in Dubai for Eid vacation

For the second year in a row, Dubai was crowned the number one destination at the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards.

Dubai, UAE— As the joyous occasion of Eid al-Fitr approaches, now is the ideal time to plan a vacation. There are numerous destinations to choose from, if you want to explore locally within the GCC or travel to any of the GCC countries.

TRENDS asked its followers on Twitter, “Which GCC city will you choose as your Eid vacation destination?”

The majority (43 percent) chose “Dubai”, followed by “Doha” (23 percent), (16 percent) chose “Riyadh,” and (18 percent) chose the option “others”.

Most respondents were men (70.3 percent), while only (25.8) percent were females.

On the other hand, 73.4 percent of the poll respondents were from Egypt, 6.8 percent from Kuwait, 6 percent from the UAE and Lebanon respectively, 4.3 percent from Saudi Arabia and 3.4 percent voted from other countries.

While 40.9 percent of the respondents were in the 20–29-year age group, 35.5 percent were between 30 and 39 years, 13.4 between 40 and 49 years, and only 10.2 percent were above 50 years old.

Dubai tops the destinations

Known for its stunning architecture, luxurious hotels and hospitality, resorts, theme parks, beautiful beaches, Dubai is without a doubt the most appealing city in the GCC to visit and spend a vacation inside.

Dubai has been recognized as the number one city break due to its numerous attractions, and world-class infrastructure travelers love.

For the second year in a row, Dubai was crowned the number one destination at the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards, based on ‘millions’ of ‘real and unbiased’ reviews by visitors over a 12-month period, from November 1, 2021, to October 31, 2022, who praised the variety of tourist activities and excellent service provided.

The city is experiencing a rise in demand among young travelers, due to the high quality of services provided, infrastructure, cleanliness, and high levels of safety, which surpass those of most Western countries, especially some crime-ridden cities in the U.S.

Doha the safest city

Doha has been rated as one of the top ten safest tourist destinations in the world, according to a recent survey by a UK-based security training marketplace.

Qatar’s high level of safety has been a major factor in an influx of tourists, with a record number already being registered in the first two months of the year. Even though it is a small country, it has a wide range of attractions and a rapidly developing tourism industry.

Separately, Doha was also named as one of the safest places for “solo women travelers” by a UK-based search engine for vacation rentals, last year. It was the only location within the region to make the list of 50 of the safest cities for women to travel alone, according to Holidu.

If you wish to experience adventure, buzzing nightlife, culture, or blissful relaxation then Doha is a perfect destination.

Riyadh a vibrant city

Considered one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world and visited by millions of international travelers every year, Saudi Arabia has absolutely everything one can wish for a lovely fulfilling getaway.

From its cultural heritage and picturesque nature, there is no doubt travelers consider Saudi Arabia for a pleasant, stimulating journey loaded with new experiences.

The capital Riyadh has grown from a small, desert village into the modern metropolis of today.
