Uzbekistan calls for launch of ‘forum for businessmen’ in Doha or Tashkent

Doha, Qatar— Uzbekistan has called for establishing a joint forum for businessmen in Doha or Tashkent to review investment opportunities in both the countries.

The appeal was made by the visiting Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov.

During his meeting with Qatar Chamber Chairman, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani, the Uzbek minister praised the relations between both countries and their interest in enhancing them across various sectors.

Kudratov also reviewed the investment climate in his country, noting that several large companies from different countries have started investing in various sectors in Uzbekistan over the past few years.

His visit to Qatar aimed to strengthen cooperation in trade and investment fields between both countries. He called on Qatari businessmen to invest in Uzbekistan, highlighting investment opportunities in sectors like infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, energy, renewable energy, agriculture, and food security.

The meeting discussed means to enhance the trade exchange between both countries, reviewed investment and commercial cooperation, and explored attractive sectors for investment.

It also looked at ways to establish commercial partnerships between the private sectors of both countries and enhance mutual investments.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani praised the close relations between both countries and encouraged Qatari businessmen to explore investment climate and opportunities in Uzbekistan.

He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Qatari and Uzbek companies and establishing trade and investment alliances that contribute to enhancing trade exchange between the two countries.

Later in the day, Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani met Kudratov. 

The meeting discussed topics of common interest to boost cooperation between the two countries in trade, investment, and industry sectors. 

Sheikh Mohammed  highlighted successful economic policies laid out by the State of Qatar to support the private sector, incentives, legislation, and promising opportunities available in Qatar to encourage investments.
