  • The AI-driven capabilities promise to unleash new avenues of creative expression, simplify the content creation, and extend the reach of YouTube creators
  • YouTube is also rolling out "Aloud," an AI-powered dubbing tool aimed at enabling creators to reach audiences beyond their primary language

New York, United States – YouTube has unveiled a suite of innovative AI-powered tools aimed at revolutionizing the world of content creation for both emerging and established creators worldwide, with a special focus on the Middle East and North Africa. These AI-driven capabilities promise to unleash new avenues of creative expression, simplify the content creation process, and extend the reach of YouTube creators to a broader audience.

“One of the most exciting announcements is the introduction of ‘Dream Screen,’ an experimental feature designed for YouTube Shorts,” YouTube said. “Dream Screen harnesses the power of generative AI, allowing creators to effortlessly incorporate AI-generated video or image backgrounds into their Shorts. All creators need to do is input their creative concept into a prompt, and Dream Screen will conjure up breathtaking settings limited only by their imagination.”

Since its launch in 2020, Shorts has witnessed a staggering growth, amassing over 70 billion daily views globally, with more than 2 billion logged-in users every month.

YouTube is also rolling out “Aloud,” an AI-powered dubbing tool aimed at enabling creators to reach audiences beyond their primary language. Currently being tested in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, Aloud holds the promise of expanding the global reach of creators by breaking language barriers.

“In the coming year, YouTube Studio will incorporate generative AI to spark video ideas and draft outlines, assisting creators in brainstorming content ideas. These insights will be customized for each channel, drawing from what their audiences are currently engaging with and interested in,” YouTube revealed. “Early testing of AI-powered tools in YouTube Studio has yielded positive results, with more than 70 percent of surveyed creators acknowledging the assistance in developing and testing video concepts,”

Tarek Amin, Director of YouTube in the Middle East and North Africa, stressed YouTube’s commitment to nurturing creativity in the region through these AI-powered tools, which have been tailored to meet the unique needs of content creators.

Neal Mohan, CEO of YouTube, expressed the platform’s dedication to democratizing creativity, making it accessible to everyone. Leveraging their extensive AI expertise and a history of innovation, YouTube aims to empower creators to push the boundaries of creative expression.

“These announcements mark the beginning of a new era of creativity, with YouTube eagerly anticipating the remarkable contributions from its community of creators and artists,” Mohan stated.
