The Aston Martin Vantage has officially joined the Dubai Police fleet, in full livery complete with flashing lights, said a statement from the authorities on Saturday, September 4.
The Vantage may now be expected to be seen on Dubai’s roads alongside other sports and supercars used to service the police force.
The Dubai Police Vantage — that’s what this trim of the Aston Martin model in question is called — features a custom 77 number plate.
The number 7 is said to be a nod to the UAE’s seven emirates as well as the British marque’s longstanding association with the James Bond film franchise.
It may be noted that the 25th film in that series, No Time to Die, is expected to be released worldwide next month.
The Dubai Police Vantage is expected to make its event debut as it will be showcased alongside other models in the force’s fleet at Expo 2020 Dubai in October.
This Vantage usually has an acceleration of 0-100 km/hr in 3.5 seconds, and supports a top speed of 314 km/hr.
Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, the assistant commander-in-chief for criminal investigation affairs with the Dubai Police, received a detailed handover of the vehicle in the presence of a number of senior officers, said the aforementioned statement.
