Telal Gents Fashion achieves Guinness World Record for largest mobile clothing store

    • UAE-based Telal Gents Fashion has set a Guinness World Record for the largest mobile clothing store
    • The company converted a fleet of buses into custom-made replicas of its stores, with a total area of 24.47 square meters

Guinness World Records has recognized UAE-based apparel firm Telal Gents Fashion as the company in the world with the largest mobile clothing store, an initiative the company launched earlier this month.

According to the official record page, the apparel firm converted a fleet of buses into custom-made replicas of its stores to achieve this feat. The total area of this mobile store has been officially recorded at 24.47 square meters.

The service is currently available throughout Dubai, with further Emirates reportedly being added to the on-demand mobile shopping experience.

An official statement from Telal Gents Fashion stated on Wednesday, May 26, that the initiative offers customers of the brand “an on-demand mobile boutique straight to their doorstep.” It added that the idea for the record attempt had its roots in the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting clampdown on public movement.

The statement quoted the company’s director Hassan Thurabias saying, “We noticed a 30 percent dip in customer footfall during the pandemic due to lockdown restrictions and a reluctance from people to go outside for non-essential goods. To grow and in line with customer expectations, we had to find a solution to the situation fast, so we invented a platform to support the new needs of our customers, and brought our services to our customers’ doorsteps at the click of a button.”

Thurabi added that the initiative had boosted the company’s sales by 50 percent.
