Kuwait City, Kuwait–The art exhibition titled “Oman in the Heart of Kuwait” was inaugurated at the Kuwaiti Syndicate of Media and Artists on Saturday, emphasizing the deep historical and cultural ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Kuwait.

Oman’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Saleh Al-Kharusi, who presided over the event, remarked on the significance of collaboration between the cultural and artistic institutions of both nations. He expressed to KUNA that the exhibition serves as a testament to the enduring relationship shared by Oman and Kuwait.

Nearly 50 Omani artists showcased their works at the event. Dr. Nabil Al-Failakawi, Chairman of Kuwait’s Syndicate of Media and Artists, reiterated the Syndicate’s commitment to promoting art both domestically and internationally. He emphasized, “We are dedicated to forging connections and fostering collaboration with artists throughout the Arabian Gulf region.”

The exhibition’s schedule is packed with diverse events, including an art display, a poetic symposium set for Sunday, and a music seminar planned for Monday, as highlighted by Dr. Al-Failakawi.

Omani artist Lyali Al-Ghareibi is showcasing a painting that depicts a compassionate sister dressed in traditional Omani attire, aiming to emphasize national identity. Another artist, Hatem Al-Sheili, is presenting a unique china sculpture of an enlarged human ear with a copper center.

Other notable contributions include four artworks by Majed Al-Rwahi, a painting by Zakiya Al-Batashi, and three distinct paintings by the Al-Jassasi family – one by Jamal Al-Jassasi, another by his 15-year-old daughter, and a third by his brother.

The exhibition not only celebrates art but also underscores the mutual respect and camaraderie between Oman and Kuwait.
