The most awaited new season of Fazza Championship for Falconry- Telwah, organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centre (HHC), will start from 28 December and will last until 14 January 2022 in Al Ruwayyah, Dubai.

Telwah (lure in Arabic) is one of the UAE’s most honored heritage sports and its 2000 years old history shows Bedouins of the Arabian Peninsula practiced it for hunting.

HHC Director of Championships, Rashid Al Khasouni, has confirmed the closing of Championship’s registration and its committee has also finished putting smart rings on all the participating falcons.

Rashid Al Khasouni welcomed all participants saying that all their needs will be fulfilled along with health and safety standards will be implemented.

“The new season will be highly competitive and challenging. Falconry, as a traditional sport, has always been associated with the traditional Arabian values of courage, honor, and nobility as well as nature conservation, respect for animals, and camaraderie among falconers. These are the values that we are promoting at this sport – it is also a celebration of our heritage that is passed on from many generations,” he added.
