Amman Chamber exports rises to US$565m in January- March 2023

AMMAN, JORDAN  –  The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC)’s export of goods and commodities to Arab and other countries increased during the first three months of 2023 by 58.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

According to the chamber’s statistical data obtained by Petra, “ACC’s exports during the January-March period 2023 amounted to US$565 million (JD401 million), compared to US$356 million (JD253 million) for the same period last year.”  

The number of certificates of origin issued by ACC also rose during the first three months of 2023, by 7.9percent to reach 8,676, compared to 8,042 certificates during the same period last year, ACC figures revealed.

In this regard, ACC- issued certificates of origin during the first three months of 2023 went to multiple countries, most notably Saudi Arabia with 1,530 certificates, followed by the UAE at 1,221, Iraq at 614, Egypt at 276 and Switzerland at 9.

Jordanian exports to Iraq was of US$217 million (JD154 million), Switzerland at about US$103 million (JD73 million), the UAE at about US$59 million (JD42 million), Egypt at US$42 million (JD30 million), and Saudi Arabia at about US$29 million (JD21 million), ACC’s monthly statistical data showed.

The chamber’s exports during the first three months of 2023 were distributed among foreign products (re-exports) at a value of about US$253 million (JD180 million) followed by industrial products at about US$59 million (JD42 million).
