DUBAI, UAE – Dubai is poised to become an international capital for the global creative economy, according to Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, who spoke during his keynote at the ‘1 Billion Followers Summit’.

Addressing “Why Dubai?”, Al Gergawi explored the city’s foundational purpose, its creation ideation, and the mission to collaborate with the global community. He invited content creators to join in shaping Dubai’s narrative.

“Dubai transcends economic statistics; it embodies a pursuit of the highest quality of life. Our aspiration is to achieve excellence, provide superior services, and ensure top quality across various sectors,” Al Gergawi asserted.

The UAE’s leading position in the World Happiness Report 2020’s general index mirrors its focus on holistic well-being. Al Gergawi emphasized that safety and security are crucial, forming the foundation of both the business and social environments. Dubai consistently ranks in the top five globally for safety and security.

Connectivity was a central theme in Al Gergawi’s address. He underscored Dubai’s strategic role as a global hub, especially through DXB airport, serviced by Emirates Airlines and flydubai. He encouraged content creators, stating, “You’re not just connecting the world to Dubai; you have the opportunity to serve the country and the region. As a content creator, consider how you can cater to global markets with your unique talents and services.”

Dubai, a city that continually challenges itself, is keen to understand and explore the future. Al Gergawi urged content creators to stay ahead of trends, emphasizing, “To be the best content creator, one must grasp new trends, experience them firsthand, and strive for excellence.”

He also highlighted the importance for those in the Islamic economy to create content that truly represents the region and offers relevant services. Today’s content creators have the opportunity to tap into local talent, establish their own enterprises, and make an impact on global markets.

Al Gergawi emphasized Dubai’s prowess in global talent competitiveness, which is crucial for content creators seeking to enhance their innovative content. “By choosing Dubai, they can recruit top experts to execute their projects and boost their competitiveness,” he said.

He stressed the importance of increasing the value of the content industry and highlighted the Chamber’s commitment to aiding content creators’ success in the city. This support leverages the Dubai International Chamber’s 28 global offices, a part of the Dubai Chambers umbrella, responsible for facilitating international expansion efforts.

Al Gergawi passionately spoke about the UAE’s efforts to foster an environment conducive to content creators. He referred to the AED 150 million fund announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at the 1 Billion Followers Summit. This fund showcases Dubai’s commitment to supporting and nurturing creative talent.

In his conclusion, Al Gergawi focused on the world-class living support Dubai offers. With its diverse population of 200 nationalities, the city provides superior infrastructure, including 160,000 hotel rooms, and top-tier healthcare and educational facilities, making it more affordable than many global cities.

Discussing the role of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, he said, “Our organization represents the private sector, assists in business setup, and provides access to potential clients, partners, and investors. Last year, we hosted Expand North Star, the biggest event for startups and investors in the digital economy sector. Our aim is to bolster the digital economy, with the content creator economy at its core. We are here to help you thrive in Dubai and, if you wish to expand, we can assist in that significantly.”

“We’re here not only to help you get off to a strong start but also to help you soar if you’re already on your way,” Al Gergawi added. In a global call to action, Al Gergawi said, “Help Dubai achieve its goals and ambitions, and in return, Dubai is ready to elevate your success to new heights.”
