Doha, Qatar – Qatar and Turkey decided to enhance their economic cooperation and strengthen the strategic partnership during the visit of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The joint technical teams of the two countries will identify shared investment opportunities in areas such as exports funding, tourism, clean energy, and other fields of mutual interest. 

Qatar’s emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani praised Turkey’s efforts to improve the country’s financial situation and reduce inflation rates through a comprehensive monetary policy. Erdogan recognized Qatar’s inherent economic potential and its balanced growth rates, saying it was one of the most robust economies in the region.

The two leaders also discussed important regional and international developments and witnessed the signing of a joint statement on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.

In a tweet Sheikh Tamim expressed his pleasure in meeting President Erdogan in Doha and highlighted its importance in promoting economic cooperation and exploring promising opportunities for both countries. They emphasized the significance of international solidarity in addressing the diverse challenges confronting the region and the world.
