Oman lifts travel ban on India, Pakistan, Bangladesh

  • All those coming to Oman are required to present a Covid-19 vaccine certificate
  • The certificate must contain a QR Code stating that they have received two doses of an Oman-approved vaccine

Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority has announced that the country has removed India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and 18 other countries from its red list, local reports have said.

This means fully-vaccinated passengers from these countries can travel to the Gulf country, said the reports.

The decision will reportedly be effective from the midnight of September 1.

The CAA has reportedly issued a circular in coordination with the Medical Response and Public Health Sectors, and the Royal Oman Police, to travelers arriving to and all airlines operating in Oman.

While allowing passengers from 21 countries into Oman, the circular also said all Omani citizens, residents of Oman, and visa holders of Oman are allowed to enter the country in accordance with the pre-Covid system.

Also allowed are those who do not require a visa to travel to Oman, and those who can obtain a visa upon arrival.

All those coming to Oman are required to present a Covid-19 vaccine certificate containing a QR Code stating that they have received two doses of a vaccine approved in Oman.

The last dose is required to have been received not less than 14 days ahead of the estimated arrival time, according to the circular.

The Ministry of Health is expected to publish and update the list of vaccines approved in Oman.
