Qatar Chamber explores business opportunities with Turkey’s businessmen

Doha, Qatar— Qatar Chamber and Turkish officials from the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) and the Manisa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) have discussed ways to boost investment cooperation in a meeting in Doha.

QC first vice-chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari met at the chamber’s premises with TCCI board member Samet Canbakkal and MCCI board members Cetin Gungur and Ibrahim Hakki Katioz.

The meeting touched on the cooperation relations between chambers in Qatar and Turkey, the investment climate and the most important sectors in Trabzon and Manisa, in addition to the investment opportunities available in both countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Mohamed bin Twar praised the close relations between Qatar and Turkey, pointing to the desire of Qatari investors to get acquainted with the investment opportunities available in Turkey in various sectors.

He assured that Qatar Chamber supports and encourages the cooperation and partnership between both sides, and encourages Qatari investors to invest in Turkey, stressing that Qatar welcomes Turkish investors in a multitude of opportunities, especially in light of the provision of a world-class infrastructure and leading economic legislation.

He also proposed organizing a Qatari-Turkish business forum that brings businessmen from both countries to review cooperation horizons and highlight the available investment opportunities galore in both sides.

For his part, TCCI board member Samet Canbakkal lauded the close relations between Qatar and Turkey, expressing his hope that relations between both Qatar and Trabzon chamber to be on the same level.

He gave an overview about Trabzon Chamber, which is the second oldest and largest chambers in Turkey, reviewing the investment projects available in the city such as the Business Island on an area of 2800 sqm, in addition to other projects in various sectors such as construction, industry and technology.

MCCI board member Cetin Gungur affirmed the interest of his country to strengthen cooperation ties with Qatar in all economic sectors, noting that the delegation visit aims to explore the Qatari market, develop trade and cooperation relations between the private sector on both countries, in addition to informing the Qatari side on the Turkish products that can be exported to Qatar.

Gungur also indicated that Manisa offers many investment opportunities in a number of sectors, such as industry and agriculture, calling Qatari investor to invest in the city which has 6 industrial zones that manufacturing many products.
