Qatar’s PPI rises by 5.22% in November 2022

  • When compared to November 2021, the PPI of Mining for November 2022 showed an increase of 7.72 percent

Doha, UAE – The general Producer Price Index (PPI) of the industrial sector of Qatar for November 2022 rose 143.57 points, an increase of 5.22 percent when compared to the PPI of November 2021.

On Month-on-Month basis, the PPI of November showed a decrease of 3.03 percent when compared to October 2022.

According to the data issued by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) on Tuesday, the PPI of November 2022 for the Mining and Quarrying sector showed a decrease by 3.58 percent when compared with PPI of October 2022, primarily due to the price decrease on “Crude Petroleum and Natural Gas” by 3.58 percent. 

No change in “Other Mining and Quarrying” have been registered. 

When compared to November 2021, the PPI of Mining for November 2022 showed an increase of 7.72 percent.

In the Manufacturing sector, a decrease of 0.04 percent has been recorded in November 2022, when compared with the previous months manufacturing index.  The price decrease in “Basic Metals” was 6.27 percent, followed by “Rubber and Plastics Products” by 0.89 percent, and “Cement & Other Non-Metallic Mineral Products” by 0.26 percent. 

The increasing prices are noticed in “Refined Petroleum Products” by 2.59 percent, followed by “Food Products” by 1.31 percent, and “Chemicals and Chemical Products” by 0.36 percent. No change has been noticed in “Beverages”, “Printing and Reproduction of Recorded Media” in November 2022.

In the Electricity, Gas, Steam, and Air Conditioning Supply, the PPI showed an increase of 5.52 percent compared with October 2022. When compared with the PPI of November 2021, the PPI of November 2022 showed an increase of 1.47 percent.

The PPI of the Water Supply sector showed a decrease of 2.37 percent, compared to October 2022. On Y-o-Y basis, the PPI of November 2022 showed a decrease of 9.81 percent.
