Saudi Arabia is among the five countries which are competing to organize World Expo 2030.
Other four countries in the fray, according to Fahd Al-Rasheed, CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City are South Korea, Italy, Ukraine and Russia.
The kingdom bid for the event following the announcement to this effect in October by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.Â
The Kingdom submitted its file to host the World Expo 2030 during its participation in the virtual meeting of the Bureau of International Exhibitions (BIE) General Assembly, which was held on December 14 in the French capital, Paris. This has set in motion the five-stage selection process which will end in 2023.
This global event continues for six months and enables the host and participating countries to showcase the latest developments in science and technology, their respective cultures and heritage in addition to the progress made in the environment, social and economic sectors.
