Services to facilitate Golden Visa for doctors in UAE launched

    • Doctors licensed by UAE health regulators can apply before September 2022.

    • The long-term visa allows foreigners to work, live and study without needing an Emirati sponsor.

ABU DHABI: UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) has launched a series of services to facilitate 10-year golden visas for doctors residing in the UAE.

Doctors licensed by UAE health regulators can apply before September 2022.

Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Acting Director-General of the ICA, said Golden Residency to all UAE-based doctors and their families is an acknowledgement of the efforts of the UAE’s ‘First Line of Defence’ who steered the country’s efforts to contain the Covid-19 pandemic and ensure public safety, local media reports said.

The initiative, he added, also depicts UAE leadership’s vision to attract highly skilled medical professionals, which in turn will enhance the UAE’s healthcare ecosystem, while also boosting the ICA’s global competitiveness in providing innovative services.

Golden Visa is a 10-year permit covering specialized sectors including science, innovation and health care.

The long-term visa allows foreigners to work, live and study without needing an Emirati sponsor. Expat residents make up nearly 90% of the UAE.
