Istanbul, Turkeye – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that the value of his country’s exports during 2022 stood at more than $254 billion, an increase of 12.9 percent compared with last year.
The Turkish president pointed out that his country’s economy grew by 6.2 percent during the first three quarters of 2022, stressing that his government aims to make Turkey among the top ten largest exporting countries in the world.
Erdogan explained that Turkish exports made their way to the markets of 197 countries and regions around the world.
It is noteworthy that the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute, issued recently, showed that Turkeys total exports during the period from January to November of 2022 recorded a growth of 13.9 percent, compared to the same period in 2021, reaching $231.3 billion, while total imports increased by 36.6 percent, amounting to $331.1 billion.
Turkey is seeking to shift to a current account surplus through increased exports and lower interest rates.
